Seoul Robotics Chattanooga Project wins Smart 50 Award
Smart Cities Connect recognized our partnership with the University of Tennessee Chattanooga Center of Urban Informatics and Progress (CUIP) and Chattanooga Department of Transportation in this year's Smart 50 Awards.
The Smart 50 Awards, selected by Smart Cities Connect and US Ignite, 'recognize global smart cities projects, honouring the most innovative and influential work.' The Smart 50 Awards are presented annually for leading smart city projects from municipalities around the world. Smart Cities Connect provides news about the smart city industry and community, and also offers the most comprehensive smart city conference in North America.
Seoul Robotics SENSR equipped LiDAR sensors were equipped along the MLK Smart Corridor in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This system provides the CUIP and the city of Chattanooga with valuable data surrounding pedestrian and vehicle movement. Anonymous vehicle tracking, wrong-way detection, and pedestrian crossing metrics are all important examples of data collected to both inform city planning policy and teach students at the University.
